What We Did
Colorado Springs, CO welcomed the group at City of Colorado Springs Municipal Airport (KCOS). With Pikes Peak towering above the city and Garden of the Gods nearby, the area offered a mix of dramatic natural scenery and well-known attractions including Manitou Springs, old Colorado City, the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center, numerous museums, and nearby Royal Gorge and Canyon City.
The trip included a WINGS Safety Seminar focused on sharpening safety skills, a visit to Garden of the Gods with its striking sandstone rock formations and visitor center exhibits, and a tour of the U.S. Air Force Academy with its planetarium, trails, overlooks, and displays.
