Bardstown, KY

What We Did

Bardstown, KY welcomed the group at Samuels Field Airport (KBRY). Known as the Bourbon Capitol of the World, Bardstown sat in north-central Kentucky south of Louisville and the Ohio River, with scenic rolling “knobs and hollers” and a mix of farmland and forests that made for a memorable gateway to Bourbon Country and its deep distilling roots tied to families like Beam, Weller, Samuels, and Hayden.

The trip included a WINGS Safety Seminar with a guest speaker, a BBQ at the airport, group distillery tours at Lux Row Distillery and the Barton 1792 Distillery, a bourbon tasting, time to explore local restaurants, shops, museums focused on whiskey history and the Civil War, and a group dinner featuring guest speaker Dan Gryder sharing safety-focused insights.
