New Orleans, LA welcomed the group at New Orleans Lakefront Airport (KNEW). Known for its distinctive blend of culture, music, and zest for life, the city’s rich history as a strategic gateway at the mouth of the Mississippi–Missouri river system helped shape a unique heritage influenced by European powers and generations of immigrants. Best known for Mardi Gras and celebrated as the birthplace of jazz, New Orleans’ energy could be felt throughout the heart of the city.
The trip included a WINGS Safety Seminar with a guest speaker eligible for WINGS credits, a visit to The National WWII Museum featuring immersive exhibits, artifacts, and the 4D experience Beyond All Boundaries narrated by Tom Hanks, time to explore the city independently, and a Creole Queen riverboat tour with a Cajun lunch and narration covering centuries of New Orleans history, including a visit to Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and the Chalmette Battlefield with a guided talk by National Park Rangers.
